On December 8, 2019, the Jimei (International) Design Award Launch Ceremony and Jimei Enjoyment, jointly organized by Jimei Design Institute and Chinese Designers Network, were held grandly at the Jimei Yishu Hall in Foshan. After a feast of ideas at the forefront of design, Jimei Thinking, hosted by Jimei Design Institute, joined hands with nearly 60 outstanding young designers to embark on a study tour to explore aesthetics and design wisdom with a longing for Foshan ceramic culture. journey.
They captured design inspiration and experienced the unique Lingnan cultural experience during the trip. They came from different regions and actively communicated and shared, gaining more new design inspiration and adjusting to better design status.

Enter the company and learn about the brick production process
In order to deepen the traveling designers’ awareness of Li Home brand products, they walked into the showroom and factory workshop, felt the subtle differences between ceramic tiles with different textures, and observed and experienced up close how the raw materials turned into one piece. The tiles are exquisite.
Here, the study tour designers listened carefully to the on-site explanations given by relevant staff of the Lijia ceramic tile brand, carefully observed every part of the workshop, and gained a direct and in-depth understanding of how a ceramic tile is produced. For them, this is all a new experience!

Experience the southern pottery culture
In Shiwan, the pottery capital of Southern China, the study tour designers visited the Nanfeng ancient stoves and Gaozao, which contain rich cultural heritage and are known as "living fossils of ceramics". For five hundred years, kiln fires and production have continued uninterrupted. Rare in the world, already listed in GenieSri Lankan world record book.
There are still cave dwellings preserved in the Nanfeng Ancient Zao from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The materials and space are not large, but they carry the historical changes of ceramic culture. As you walk, you can feel the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient working people.
Visiting the Nanfeng Ancient Stove and the Berlin Art Museum allowed the study tour designers to truly understand the ceramic culture of Shiwan and the production process of ceramics. At the same time, they could personally participate in playing with and burning pottery, and feel how a piece of soil affects them. Everything is changing in your hands.
The Jimei Sixianghui Design Study Tour (Foshan Station) came to an end in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The aesthetic inspiration and insights captured during this journey of Lingnan pottery culture have greatly benefited the study tour designers. rich.
